Meet Our Personal Injury Attorneys

James A. Rice, Jr.

Jimmy has been focused solely on personal injury litigation for over twenty (20) years. After graduating with honors from The University of Florida Law School, Jimmy practiced defense work learning the tools/tricks of the trade before resigning from his partnership to focus 100% on representing the victims of poor judgment and the negligence of others.

Jimmy is undaunted by unacceptable offers and proceeding with cases through trial with results of hundreds of thousands of dollars over the insurance company’s last offer.

As a result of his success, Jimmy has been recognized as a top personal injury lawyer, including rated as AV (preeminent) by Martindale Hubbell, a SuperLawyer for over the past 10 consecutive years, and he is routinely voted as one of Georgia’s TOP 100 lawyers. He is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocacy Forum, a member of the Multimillion Dollar Advocacy Forum, and the Top One Percent Lawyer.

Jimmy’s success results not only from his courtroom results, but his dedication to his firm’s clients. One of the proudest aspects of our firm is that the majority of current clients were referred by past clients. The continued referrals from prior clients is recognition of our strong desire to provide not only a successful representation but individual attention to every client.

Outside of work, Jimmy enjoys time with his wife and two daughters including traveling and outdoor activities.

Kimberly McGowan

Mrs. Kimberly McGowan completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Florida and her law degree at Emory University School of Law in Atlanta. Kimberly is admitted to practice in all Georgia Courts including Trial Courts, Federal District Court, Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Georgia. She began her legal career representing insurance companies primarily related to automobile collisions. Her previous years representing several of the largest insurance carriers in the state allowed her insight into the insurance companies’ handling of claims as she worked closely with insurance adjusters.

Kimberly’s previous experience allowed her substantial litigation experience while she appeared in trial courts throughout Georgia. She has tried over fifty cases in her last five years of practice including both jury and bench trials. Mrs. McGowan has also preserved insurance coverage for her client through a successful Appeal. This previous experience combined with passion for representing injured clients helps her deliver excellent results for personal injury clients. Kimberly works closely with clients in the Duluth Office. Away from the practice of law, Kimberly enjoys spending time with her family including boating at Lake Lanier and taking her two little girls to play at the park.
